The New York rapper on a twitter space session slammed Owens for claiming that the tragic incident that led to the death of the 36-years old woman who was shot wasn’t racially motivated. Sonya was shot in her house moments after calling emergency to report a suspected intruder on the 6th of July. The United States department for justice confirmed the initiation of an investigation on the July 23rd. Sean Grayson, the deputy involved in the situation was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and official misconduct.
According to Cardi, “the officer knew in the back of his head because she was a Black woman that he was going to get away with it. Not only did he think that, but the department thought that because they didn’t tell her son or her father that a cop shot her.”
She added at the end of her talk “This could be you one day, and it could be actually worse because you’re the type of person that if a cop stops you, you would get sassy at the mouth. As soon as you get sassy at the mouth, the motherf*ker would shoot your a*.”
Cardi so far hasn’t been the only one that has spoken about Massey’s death. Nick young, meek mill, Solange and Kamala Harris have all voiced their thoughts.
