Kodak Black didn’t leave the music for fashion apparently
Kodak Black is having a great start to the year 2023, the rapper recently hit the runway and performed at the Paris fashion week and has now dropped his first official single of the year “Maui Woop” inspired by his time around the world and also his trip to hawaii where several clips from the music video were shot.
On “Maui Woop” he talks about his journey as a rapper and briefly touches on his time in prison, Kodak gets more emotional when he talks about death and referencing his friend XXXTENTACION. Kodak sings “I was in Hawaii/ Thinking about XXXTENTACION, when a n***a shot me,” he raps on the first verse. Later on, he raps, “Thinkin’ ’bout XXX, if a n***a get ups on me, then I’ll let him take it.” The duo collaborated earlier on the hit song “Roll In Peace.”
Yak is not slowing down, he’s been actively working on music and everything else, last year he dropped two albums ” Kutthroat Bill: Vol. 1″ in October 2022 & “Back For Everything” while also collaborating with Doni Nahmias for NAHMIAS’s FW23 California Poetry collection..

Lyrics
I’m in Maui Maui, thinkin’ ’bout you and all my n***as
For everybody who lost they fuckin’ life to that pistol
And for everybody on that slab right now, my n***a, I’m with you
Behind these Jim Maui shades on, you don’t see my vision
