Nicki Minaj Drops the Highly anticipated Pink Friday 2 Album
In 2010, Nicki Minaj dropped Pink Friday (1) which took the industry by storm introducing her to a larger audience with evergreen pop records like “Super Bass” and “Moment 4 Life.” This proved to be a commercial success pushing 375,000 sales in the first week from bringing together both rap and pop fans under her Barbie umbrella.
After years of anticipation, precisely over a decade later, she drops the much-anticipated sequel “Pink Friday 2”, this comes 5 years after the release of her fourth studio album “QUEEN” which was released back in 2018, The album includes collaborations with J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Tate Kobang, Drake, Lourdiz, Lil Uzi Vert, Skillibeng, Skeng, Future, and Tasha Cobbs Leonard.
In September 2022 she dropped “Super Freaky Girl,” the lead track from the album, it debuted and peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, a clear indication that fans have been anticipating the albums release.
When asked about the album, Nicki said “When I look back at a lot of my music, I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, where was the me in it?” she told Vogue in October. “So for this album, I went back to the old game plan.”
