Will Smith’s “I am legend 2” is indeed coming
Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan are set to star in the upcoming sequel to the 2007 post-apocalyptic sci-fi movie, “I Am Legend” According to Will Smith, the sequel will be based on the alternate ending used in the DVD release of the original movie, rather than its theatrical version, in which his character dies. The sequel is currently in the final scripting stages.
The original movie was based on the 1954 novel of the same name by Richard Matheson. The story is about a disease that spread among humans, turning them into zombie-like beings that hide from sunlight. Scientist Neville (Smith) was a lone survivor living in New York City, struggling to develop a cure.
The sequel is expected to start a few decades later than the first movie and will explore the possibilities of what happens when man steps away from being the primary tenant of the earth. The screenwriter behind the sequel, Akiva Goldsman, has said that the possibilities for the sequel are endless.
While there is no official release date yet, fans of the original movie are eagerly anticipating the sequel 4. It will be interesting to see how the sequel builds on the original story and what new twists and turns it will bring to the table.
