One of the individuals accused of killing Foolio in June has been connected to a previous attempt to kill the rapper.
News4Jax provided an update on the intricate Foolio murder case on Wednesday, August 7, revealing that one of the five suspects, 18-year-old Sean Gathright, was allegedly connected to a prior incident in October 2023 where Foolio was shot in the foot.
Gathright is alleged to be the shooter responsible for Foolio’s death, along with cousins Davion Murphy and Rashad Murphy, according to authorities. Upon his arrest on July 27, alongside suspects Alicia Andrews and Isaiah Chance Jr., police discovered a Glock 9MM pistol, a rifle, and nine spent rifle casings in Gathright’s vehicle. The spent casings were reportedly matched to shell casings from two separate shootings, including a May murder and Foolio’s October shooting.
On October 7, 2023, Foolio was shot in the foot near the 3100 block of 18th Street W. in Jacksonville, in a situation mirroring his later fatal shooting, where his car was sprayed with bullets. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that the suspect or suspects seemed to have waited for and ambushed him. Foolio had also survived two previous shooting incidents, one in Jacksonville in November 2021 and another in Houston in July 2020.
