Yung Lean has officially announced his next move, revealing on Instagram that a new project is slated for release later this year. Titled “Jonatan,” a nod to his birth name Jonatan Aron Leandooer Håstad, the upcoming project is set to drop globally before year’s end.
Yung Lean made a concise yet impactful announcement on Instagram, marking his first post of the year on Tuesday, January 21. At around noon EST, he shared the cover art for his upcoming project, cleverly designed by Ecco2k of Drain Gang, featuring a striking portrait of the rapper.

Yung Lean captioned the post: “Jonatan the album. This spring. Art dir: @aloegarten.” Additionally, he revealed an upcoming live performance in Stockholm, scheduled for March 1 at the iconic Avicii Arena.
“Jonatan” will be Yung Lean’s fifth studio album, following his collaborative project “Psykos” with Bladee, released about a year ago. Notably, it will be Lean’s first solo studio album since “Stardust” in 2022. This past year, Lean also made notable appearances on Charli XCX’s “360” remix alongside Robyn and released the solo track “Shadowboxing.”
Although a specific release date for Jonatan has not been officially announced, keep an eye on Hypebeast for future updates and announcements regarding Yung Lean’s highly anticipated album.
